4 programs focusing on becoming a cutter
The program will cover everything to make a great run. Starting with the right equipment, making a cut, working cows in the correct position and when to quit the cow. These will be broken down into 4 sessions over the summer. Open to all riders wanting to become a successful cutter.
Each session has a 3-hour video breakdown of the highlighted topics. Moving to the arena Friday evening for riding and skill development and returning Saturday morning for continued education.

Mechanics of a Cutting run
Preparing a cutting horse and rider mentally and physically to put together a winning run. Learn the mechanics of what a horse needs to know before entering the herd.
Explore the importance of havong the right equipment.
Learn how to approach the herd and make a cut.
Program 2; Date to be set
Cow Smarts
Learn the fundamentals of riding the cutting horse.
Learn how to read cows and describe cow characteristics and how to best control the cow(s).
Learn how to quit and when to quit your cow.
Program 3; Date to be set
Making a successful run
Strategize on how to improve your cutting run; understand your run content, time worked, amount of courage, degree of difficulty, and eye appeal.
Learn and understand a judge’s card
Program 4; Date to be set
Completing a run; Beginning to End
Put a complete run together with all the components of a great run.
Complete review of the NCHA judges’ card and scoring the cutting run.
